At Classic Trivia, we reckon trivia is the perfect excuse to head to the pub with your mates, fire up the brain cells, and maybe even snag a prize or two.
Our goal is simple: bring people together for a night of laughs, beers, and a little friendly competition. We keep things straightforward — no flashy gimmicks, no endless picture rounds, just good questions and good times.
Our quizzes are designed to be fun and welcoming, not stressful or overly tricky. We aim for questions that everyone can have a crack at — you might not always get them right, but you’ll never feel completely stumped.
Our motto? Every team should be able to answer every question — even if it’s not the right answer!
Our Story
Martin and Alice have been trivia tragics for as long as they can remember.
Martin started hosting trivia nights back in 2007, and by 2021 he’d taken the plunge into writing questions full time — because why not turn your passion for obscure facts and wordplay into a career? He knows exactly what makes a great question: clever, clear, a little surprising, and just tricky enough to start arguments between friends.
He’s also a comedian and radio personality, regularly popping up on ABC local radio and hosting his own community radio show. Basically, he’s smart, funny, and quick with a quip — which is lucky, because his looks are going downhill.
Alice does all the important stuff that makes this operation run smoothly: building websites, wrangling logistics, and bringing trivia-loving communities together. She’s a devoted trivia player (even if she rarely wins) and proudly specialises in airport codes and pop culture from the late 90s to early 2000s.
Martin’s specialist topic? Cities the Danube flows through that start with the letter B. (Bratislava, Belgrade, & Budapest)
Together, they make Classic Trivia: smart, fun, no-nonsense quiz nights that are all about good questions, and great company, and the thrill of a correct answer shouted across a pub.
